- 17 Sep, 2026 MBA 2027-29 admission policy revised: 20 UG disciplines replace the old academic categories, CAT weight is now 26% and Application Rating 14%. Minimum CAT cutoffs stay at 95 overall / 85 sectional for General and EWS.
IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) is a public business school established in 1961 and an Institute of National Importance. It offers postgraduate, doctoral and executive management programmes and has held NIRF Management Rank 1 for six consecutive years (2020 to 2025).
The flagship two-year PGP (MBA) is admitted through CAT, followed by an Analytical Writing Test and Personal Interview. PGPX, the one-year programme for experienced professionals, follows a separate GMAT/GRE-based process with essays and interviews in two rounds.
For the 2027-29 PGP batch, IIMA revised its policy: the six academic categories were replaced by 20 UG disciplines with common scoring, academic filters were removed, CAT weight rose to 26% and Application Rating fell to 14%. The minimum CAT cutoff did not change.
